DCPI TIMES Season 9 Volume 2 |
|
Written by Gary Currier
|
We start off this times report by looking back to where the last couple weeks have brought us. Just as usual, as the season goes on, scores tighten, leaders emerge and finals week starts to seem more of a reality then a dream for some corps. This season is no different. Corps who looked down and out are now up and coming, corps who looked like they would stay on top of their game may have peeked early and you have the select few solid corps that start to finish, you know they are going to be there come 9pm on Saturday!

DCPI Times Season 8 rules congress and Awards Interviews
Season 8 is a thing of the past, but the rules congress is chugging along slowly and we have had a chance to interview a few of our Awards winners.
Right now in the rules congress it looks like the few rules submitted will all pass. The first rule deals with condensed captions. Post a condensed recap, instead of posting full caption recaps. This will help prevent early season copying of scores and will likely make the league more interesting in that early part of the season. Now that copying is prevented in submissions anyway, it really truly makes things interesting.

DCPI Times Season 8 Awards Show |
|
Written by Gary Currier
|
We are coming to you live from DCPI Headquarters (where is that anyway) for our DCPI Times Award banquet.
We had a great season this year the top 6 corps at finals coming within .253 of winning and the difference between 1st and 12th was just a little over .5! This shows what a great and competitive season it was. One of the big shockers of the year was Star of Jupiter not making a finals night appearance. We know that Star will take this in stride and be back strong next year. Shadow kept the pressure on all corps this year at finals and was able to edge out Velour Knights and The Knights to take it all. Tonight it’s about the other winners out there; the men and women behind the great shows we see, the corps that may not win, but stand for what this activity is all about and the shows that were the most innovative and ground breaking.
